The Breakup oh and a Crow
Koma didn't say a thing when we were on the plane. When we got off the plane he stopped and turned to me.
"I need to do this alone. I can't have you with me."" He said it plainly there was no malice or hate but it hurt just the same.
Koma opened a portal. He walked through it. I was dumbstruck and I started to cry. I couldn't follow him. He walked back through the portal.
"I can't force you to come back to the bungalow with me. I can't force you to do anything. But I do need you to understand why I'm doing this." Koma was calm and controlled on the outside but my sensors told me he was struggling to hold himself togther.
"Oz why?" Tears were running down my face. I didn't know I could cry. My nose was running. I was a mess.
"Well this is a first." Koma handed me a tissue, he was smiling nervously. "This job could get me. No not just me, US in a position where we don't have to hide from anyone. Legitimacy for my work and then maybe somekind of peace from all of this chaos that we've been in." He was exhausted from explaining, from thinking of a way to make me understand.
"But it means I have to leave." I blurted out. I started crying again. Koma took out another tissue and wiped my tears away and held my face in his hands.
"Lin your not even a year old yet. You've got so much growing up to do. I'll always be there when your in trouble. But for now we have to be apart. The bungalow is yours, but you can go anywhere." He was trying to make it like an adventure for me. He really was trying.
I kissed him, he responded and it lasted a while. A goodbye kiss. I let him go and with a -voip- he dissapeared.
I went back to the bungalow, Koma wan't there. But there was a box. There was a card on it, it said 'A parting gift. This isn't goodbye its till we meet again'
Koma was a hopless romantic.
I packed a small bag and took the gift with me. I wanted to go somewhere I would be alone. A desert. Mojave sounded right. Koma loved the Mojave desert it had that place where all the planes were stored. I liked the sunsets. I opened a portal and walked into the Mojave, it was dawn and the sun was rising bright and yellow over the red sand.
This was my adventure, just me all alone. Then the present started to rattle. It jumped out of my hands onto the ground. The box broke open and out spilled a crow.
"Oh that was a small space." said the Crow. "Damn! Koma he said you'd open the box as soon as you saw it. " The crow fluffed himself and preened his feathers. He got himself organised and struted over to me. "So your Lin. G'day I'm .... damn Koma! He didn't even give me a name. Absent minded genius. Can make a synthoid crow who can talk and all but doesn't give me a name." The crow strutted about muttering about how dumb Koma was.
"Should I name you?" I asked mainly to make him stop. It worked. The crow looked at me through his left eye. I senesed him scanning me. I blocked it.
"You name me. Well I'm supposed to stay with you so maybe." He hesitated. "But you better not chose anything girly, cause I'm a male crow."
"Ok scamp?" I asked
"Nah too Disney." snaped the crow
"knave?" I asked again.
"Hah! try another one from your thesaurus." quiped the crow.
"Ok what about Vandal." I thought I had him there.
"Hmmm. Vandal the crow. Yeah." he shook himself proudly and flew up onto my shoulder. "G'day Lin I'm Vandal the crow." introduced Vandal.
This was going to be intresting.

I'm sorry robot-girl. *Hug* Now, it'll be okay, Koma is a no-good, low-down, scamp of a human being anyway.
So this whole break up was just an excuse to do that "Lin teams up with talking animal to go on adventures" storyline you've wanted to do for quite some time now?
